Kansas man hospitalized after semi rear-ends semi

RAWLINS COUNTY —One person was injured in an accident just before 1p.m. Thursday in Rawlins County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Kenworth semi driven by Edgar J.xRodriguez-Rodriguez, 33, Ulysses, was southbound on Kansas 25 eleven miles north of U.S. 36. The driver attempted a maneuver to keep from hitting a semi parked on the shoulder. 

The Kenworth rear-ended a 2000  Peterbilt semi driven by Fabian O. Aguilar Jimenez, 26, Garden City, who was also trying not to hit the semi on the shoulder. The unknown parked semi left the scene before KHP arrived.

EMS transported Jimenez to the hospital in Atwood. Rodriguez-Rodriguez was not injured. Both drivers were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the KHP.
