JOHNSON COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating an armed disturbance that left a woman seriously injured.
Just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday, police were dispatched to a grocery store in 14600 block of West 119th Street in Olathe, regarding an armed disturbance involving a blunt force object, according to Sergeant John Moncayo.
Upon arrival, officers located an 85-year-old woman with serious injuries. The woman was ultimately transported to an area hospital in serious condition. A suspect was located on scene and taken into custody. Christopher A. Brewer, 50, who according to court documents used a hammer in the attack, is being held on a $35,000 bond on charges of aggravated battery, reckless bodily harm. He made his first court appearance Monday afternoon and is due back in court Dec. 11, according ton online jail records.
