
PAWNEE COUNTY— Adam Hewson, a skilled trades teacher at Larned High School, was named a $75,000 winner of the Harbor Freight Tools for Schools Prize for Teaching Excellence, according to a social media report from USD 495.
Hewson won $50,000 for his school’s program and $25,000 for himself. A total of $2 million was awarded to 25 public high school skilled trades teachers and their programs across the United States.
The school district wrote, "We are so proud of Adam and all he does for our students and community. His wealth of knowledge and skills has impacted many people along the way."
