LYON COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 12:30a.m. Monday on the Kansas Turnpike Lyon Coutny.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Peterbilt semi driven by Pedro Ocampo, 64, Berwyn, Illinois, was southbound on Interstate 35 approaching the entry ramp for Interstate 335. The driver failed to use caution, according to the patrol. The vehicle entered the curve too fast. The semi left the road, struck three posts and overturned into a ditch.
Ocampo was pronounced deceased and was transported to Roberts Blue Funeral Home. The KHP released no additional details.
