Kansas couple arrested for alleged bank robbery

WYANDOTTE COUNTY —Law enforcement investigating the January 31 armed bank robbery at US Bank, 10959 Parallel Parkway, Kansas City, Kansas have arrested two suspects.

The Kansas City, Kansas Police Department arrested two suspects whom they believe are responsible for the January 31st armed robbery of the US Bank at 10959 Parallel Parkway.

Just before 1:30 p.m. Monday, the Kansas City Kansas Police Department Special Operations Unit attempted to serve a warrant for 51-year-old Willie Sampson at his residence in the area of N. 37th and Wood Avenue, according to a media release.

Sampson ignored commands and barricaded himself inside for nearly two hours. He voluntarily exited the home around 3:15p.m. and was arrested without incident.

Earlier in the day, Sampson’s wife, 50-year-old Kimberly Thomas-Sampson of Kansas City, Kan., was also taken into custody without incident at her place of employment.

The couple have each been charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated non- residential burglary, conspiracy to commit aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and theft. They are being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on $250,000 bonds each.
