WICHITA - Victoria’s Brooklyn Kuhn went 3-1 and finished third at the 3-2-1A State Tennis Tournament at the Riverside Tennis Complex in Wichita.
Kuhn, who won the singles title at last weekends’ Phillipsburg Regional, won her first two matches to advance to the semifinals. On Friday she defeated Molly Bender of Conway Springs 6-0, 6-2 then knocked off Olivia Favero of St Mary’s Colgan 6-4, 6-4.
In the semifinals, Kuhn lost 6-1, 6-1 to Keira Knoflicek of Kansas City Christian before defeating Phillipsburg’s Jacie Roth 6-2, 6-2 in the third place match.
Kuhn finished her season with a 31-3 record.
Trego’s Caroline Brungardt finished 1-2. She lost her first-round match 6-0, 6-2 to Conway Springs Loren May. She won her first consolation match against Hayden Bellamy of Colby 9-7 before falling to Hannah Pierce of Kingman 9-2.
