Kan. man jailed after disturbance between neighbors, standoff

GEARY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on multiple requested charges after a stand-off in Junction City.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Junction City Police Department and Geary County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance between neighbors on the 800 block of Skyline Drive, according to a media release.

Upon arrival, an individual, later identified as 35-year-old Curtis Manquil McDaniel  barricaded himself within his residence and refused lawful orders given by officers on the scene.

At this point, local S.W.A.T. teams were deployed. Following an almost 5-hour long standoff, McDaniel gave himself up to officers on the scene without further incident.

There were no injuries resulting from this incident and police took McDaniell was taken into custody in requested charges of of Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Child Endangerment, Felony Interference with LEO, Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Criminal Threat, according to online jail records.
