DOUGLAS COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after altercation with sheriff's deputies in Douglas County.

Just before 1p.m. Tuesday, deputies arrested a 40-year-old Lawrence man who had displayed a knife while they sought to apprehend him on a warrant, according to the Douglas County Sheriff's office.

The man had an outstanding warrant for an alleged parole violation.

Deputies saw the suspect display the knife as they directed him to stop walking in the 1000 block between Kentucky and Vermont streets in Lawrence. The suspect eventually dropped the knife, and deputies took him to the Douglas County Jail. No one was injured.  The sheriff's office did not release the name of the suspect or list requested charges.
