RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating alleged theft by deception.
Just after 1p.m. Tuesday, officers filed a report for theft by deception in the 600 block of Schurle Way in Riley. A 68-year-old man reported an unknown suspect posing as customer service for Amazon Prime scammed him out of $1,500 in Visa gift cards as payment for a "fraudulent return."
Anyone with information can contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you to remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
