HAYS – The Hays High boys soccer team battled through regulation and an overtime period only but Salina Central broke the 1-1 tie with a goal in the second extra period for a 2-1 win Thursday at the Hays High Soccer Field.
Diego Muller gave the Indians (0-3) a 1-0 scoring on an assist from Brantlee Staab with a little over 29 minutes to play in the first half.
Salina Central scored the equalizer with a little over 16 minutes to play in the half.
Neither team scored in the second or the first overtime before the Mustangs scored the golden goal in the second overtime despite being a man down after receiving a red card.
