SEDGWICK COUNTY —A Kansas woman accused of sex crimes is due back in court Wednesday afternoon.

Savana King, 31, will appear in Judge William Wooley's courtroom for a preliminary hearing, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's office.

On January 29, an 18-year-old woman reported that she had been sexually assaulted by her former softball coach Savanah King over several years, between 2021 and 2024, before she reached the age of consent, according to Wichita Police Officer Juan Rebolledo.

Police arrested King on requested charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child; fondling, criminal sodomy with a child under the age of 14 and unlawful sexual relations, according to Sedgwick County arrest records. After spending a weekend in jail, King met the requirement of a $250,00 bond and was released from jail.

King played softball for Friends University, according to the school's website.
