DOUGLAS COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a violent weekend incident and looking for suspects.
A fight outside a Lawrence bar led to gunshots and people running for safety just before 2a.m. Saturday, according to a social media report from Lawrence Police. Nobody was hit by the gunfire.
Officers are looking to talk to the occupants of a black Nissan registered to an owner in Topeka.
Witnesses told police, an employee at Replay Lounge, 946 Massachusetts Street, tried to intervene to stop the fight and was hit in the face. At some point one of the men involved in the original fight pulled out a gun and fired at least two shots. The men then left. t
Officers recovered shell casings and interviewed several witnesses. The bar employee was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
