Kan. suspects were traveling with kids, cocaine, no car seats

JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating three suspects on a variety of charges after a weekend traffic stop.

Just after 8 P.M. Saturday, a sheriff's deputy stopped a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer near 134th and U.S. Highway 75 for an alleged traffic violation, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

Further investigation into the traffic stop led to the arrest of Rusty James Potts, 32, of Mayetta, Simone Alexandra Noriega, 26, of Mayetta and Cass Ellen Cadue, 26, of Mayetta.

Potts was booked into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of interference with law enforcement and two counts of aggravated endangerment of a child.

Noriega was booked into the Jail on requested charges of interference with law enforcement, two counts of aggravated endangerment of a child, no child restraint seat, and driving while suspended.

Cadue was booked into the Jail on a requested charge of possession of cocaine, possession of a hallucinogenic drug and drug paraphernalia.
