Kansas woman dead, man injured in Mississippi crash

DESOTO COUNTY, Mississippi —A Kansas woman was killed and  man was injured in a single-vehicle accident just after 11a.m. Tuesday in Mississippi.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol identified the victim as 35-year-old Cynthia Teeter of Hutchinson.

She was a passenger in an SUV driven by 28-year-old Aaron Corkill, also of Hutchinson. 

 Corkill was eastbound on Interstate 22 near the Interstate 269 interchange when the SUV left the road and struck a bridge pillar.

Teeter was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Corkill  to Region One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He’s listed in serious condition. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The accident five miles south of Olive Branch, Mississippi, or about 40 miles southeast of Memphis.
