After 7-months, U.S. Marshals catch Kansas man wanted for murder

WYANDOTTE COUNTY—Prosecutors have charged a suspect in connection with a murder in March.

On October 6, U.S. Marshals apprehended the 21-year-old Rene Najera of Kansas City, Kansas for homicide that occurred on March 26 in the 1600 block of Ridge Avenue, according to a statement released Tuesday from Kansas City, Kansas Police.

The Wyandotte County District Attorney’s Office has charged him with felony first-degree murder,  aggravated battery and aggravated assault in the shooting death of 19-year-old Anderson Murcia-Cartagena

Najera is being held in the Wyandotte County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
