PLATTE COUNTY— The inmate who escaped from custody Wednesday has been taken back into custody, according to the Platte County Sheriff's office.
Just after 2:30p.m, 38-year-old Jacob Meineker escaped from custody from Saint Luke’s Hospital on Barry Road.
An extensive search by members of the Platte County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas City Police Department took place over the next several hours.
Just after 9:30p.m., officers took Meineker was taken into custody near Green Hills Road and North Shore Drive further incident. Meineker is currently being held in the Platte County Detention Center on the original charge of possession of a controlled substance and a new requested charge for his escape from custody, according to online jail records.
