HARVEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a disturbance involving gunshots reported Thursday night in Newton.
Just after 9 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched for an active disturbance in the area of East 12th and Magnolia in Newton, according to a social media report from police.
While they were en route, several 911 calls reported multiple gunshots in the area. Officers arrived at a chaotic scene but were quickly able to determine no one was injured. Police searched two residences and found no victims or suspects.
After interviewing witnesses, officers identified two people involved in the disturbance and recovered a handgun and several spent casings. No arrests have been made.
