SALINE COUNTY —Two semi drivers were injured in separate accident due to the strong winds on Interstate 70.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported that just after 11:30a.m., a 2018 Kenworth semi driven by Michael John Main, 68, Jackson, MO., was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of the Beverly exit.
A gust of wind caused the semi to overturn in the median facing south and partially in the eastbound passing lane.
Approximately an hour later, a 2014 International Semi driven by Roach, John Francis Roach, 60, Independence, Mo, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just east of Niles Road. A gust of wind blew the semi on its side into the median.
EMS transported Main and Roach to Salina Regional Health Center. The drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
