2 Kansas women jailed after drugs found near children

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspect after police executed a search warrant at a Kansas home.

On Friday, members of the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit and the Shawnee County Drug Task Force served a search warrant in the 1600 Block of SW Central Park Avenue related to an ongoing investigation, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

While conducting the search warrant, the officers located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

As a result, officers arrested Shannon Hardesty, 45 years of age, and Kelcey Lowry, 28 years of age, both of Topeka. They were transported to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Hardesty was jailed on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent of distribution, Possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution and Aggravated endangering a child
