Kansas violent offender captured after traffic stop

 JACKSON COUNTY—Law enforcement are investigating two suspect on drug allegations. Just after 3p.m. June 21, a sheriff's deputy conducted a traffic stop on a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck that had been northbound on U.S. Highway 75, near 266th Road for alleged traffic violations. according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

During the course of the stop the driver was identified as Kevin Lee Davenport, 41 and passenger identified as Jessica Rose Castle, 33, both of Topeka. During the course of the traffic stop probable cause was established to search the vehicle for illegal drugs or narcotics. The vehicle occupants were arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail.

Davenport was arrested and booked on requested charges of an outstanding Pottawatomie County warrant for burglary, theft, and criminal damage to property. Additionally, Davenport was arrested for alleged violate Offender Registry Act; 2nd Conviction, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Davenport has been registered as a violent offender since 2007 for a felony drug conviction in Shawnee County, according to the KBi Offender Registry

Castle was arrested and booked into the Jackson County Jail onrequested charges of  possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with law enforcement and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.
