Investigation leads to drug arrest at Kansas home

SHAWNEE COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects after a drug bust at a Kansas home.

On Tuesday, members of the Topeka Police Department Narcotics Unit served a search warrant in the 200 Block NE Grattan Street related to an ongoing investigation, according to Lt. Jerry Monasmith.

Through the search warrant, the officers located methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

As a result, police arrested 52-year-old John Santos and 52-year-old Jason Castle both of Topeka.

Officers transported them to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections. Santos is being held on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine, Possession of drug paraphernalia and Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.

Jason Castle is jailed on requested charges of Possession of methamphetamine with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of drug paraphernalia with the intent of distribution within 1000 feet of a school, Possession of marijuana and Criminal possession of a weapon by a felon.
