
SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a suspect in connction an alleged knife threat.
Just after 9:30a.m. Friday, police responded to East High Schoo, 2301 East Douglas in Wchita after a 16-year-old boy reportedly armed with a knife, approached a group of students in the 2100 block of East Douglas, according to a statement from Wichita police. The students called 911 and ran toward the school.
East High was temporarily placed on lockout as a precaution while the school resource officer and responding officers investigated. Officers located the suspect in the school parking lot and took him into custody.
The lockout was lifted, and there is no ongoing threat to the school. Police did not release the suspect's name or possible charges he will face.
