
KANSAS CITY —Law enforcement are investigating another homicide in Kansas City, Missouri.
Just after 10a.m. Monday, patrol officers were dispatched to 27th and Quincy on a reported cutting, according to KCPD Sergeant Phil DiMartino.
When officers arrived, they located an adult female victim suffering from laceration wounds. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. While officers were on scene investigating, they received information about the location of a possible suspect.
Just before 10:30a.m., officers responded to the 6600 block of E 16th street to investigate the information they received. When they arrived, possible crime scene evidence was located, and they were directed to a residence on 16th Street. Inside, they discovered an adult female victim suffering from unknown bodily trauma. KCFD EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene.
This is being investigated as a homicide. A subject of interest was taken into custody on 16th Street, pending further investigation. Detectives are working to determine what led up to the incidents and if the scenes are related.
