SALINE COUNTY —A Salina man struck by a car on Christmas Eve is out of intensive care and police have arrested the driver of the vehicle that allegedly hit him.
Frank Cooper, Jr., 49, of Salina, remains in Via Christi in Wichita, but is no longer in ICU, according to Salina Police Captain Paul Forrester.
Cooper received life threatening injuries when he was struck by a car in the 500 block of S. Ohio Street on the evening of Dec. 24.
The driver of the vehicle later identified as 62-year-old Daniel Woodruff did not stop and the Salina Police Department asked for the public's assistance in identifying him.
On Dec. 26, police reported they had identified Woodruff as the driver. He was was arrested on Friday at his residence on requested charges Felony failing to stop at an accident resulting in great bodily harm and Driving while suspended. He is no longer in custody, according to online jail records.
