Police: Kan. boy hospitalized after bitten by dogs

HARVEY COUNTY —Authorities are investigating an animal attack that sent a boy to the hospital.

Just before 8p.m. Tuesday, police  responded to help boy who was bitten by several dogs while he was riding a bicycle in the 400 block of W. 6th Street in Newton, according to a media release.

 A Newton Police officer assisted the boy and treated the wounds at the scene before the child was transported to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

The dogs were taken to Caring Hands Humane Society for observation. Police released no additional information about the boy.
