TOPEKA–Police continue to search for clues in the the July 14 murder of a Kansas woman and her 13-year-old daughter.
An anonymous donor gave Shawnee County Crime Stoppers $20,000 to be used as an enhanced reward for information leading to an arrest in the double homicide.
Just before 2a.m. July 14, police were dispatched to a home in the 500 block of SW 5th Street in Topeka on a report of a shooting, according to Lt. Kelvin Johnson.
Upon arrival, officers located two deceased victims inside a residence with apparent gunshot wounds. They were later identified as Crystal D. Andrews, 37, and her daughter Mercedes M. Holford, 13 of Topeka.
In addition to the $20,000 enhanced reward, Crime Stoppers is offering an additional $2,000, totaling a $22,000 reward offer, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Spiker.
