Police: 6-year-old Kan. boy treated for gunshot wound

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a shooting that injured a 6-year-old. 

Just before 1:30 pm Monday, police dispatched to the 3100 block of South Yale in Wichita for reports of gunshots heard in the area, according to Officer Trevor Macey.

A Witness reported a vehicle leaving the area with adults and one child. That vehicle arrived at an area hospital a short time later with a six-year-old boy who had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

The adult male suspect was stopped by officers. The shooting was reported to be accidental.  Check the Post for additional details as they become available.
