13-year-old hospitalized after SW Kan. plane crash

STANTON COUNTY—One person as injured in an accident justbefore 3p.m. Tuesday in Stanton County.

 The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 120 single-engine aircraft piloted by Blake Allen Gerard, 36,  Collinsville, OK., was 200 yards northeast of the intersection of U.S. 160 and D Road seven miles east of the Stanton County Airport near Johnson City, Kansas.

The pilot attempted a flyby of people on the ground and caught the left wing on the dirt and spun into the ground.

EMS transported a passenger Matthew Allen Gerard, 13, Collinsville, OK., to the Stanton County Hospital.  The pilot was not injured.
