RENO COUNTY —Authorities investigating a fatal accident that occurred just after 10a.m. Saturday in Reno County have identified the victims.
According to the Reno County Sheriff's Office, preliminary information indicates that a silver Jeep Liberty driven by 59-year-old Adam Arevalo of Hutchinson was northbound on Kansas 14 Highway one half mile north of US 50. The Jeep and a southbound Chevy Malibu driven by 27-year-old Cecil Chandler IV of Hutchinson, were involved in a collision. Both drivers were pronounced deceased by emergency medical personnel.
A passenger from the Malibu identified as 19-year-old Shyann Cullison of Hutchinson was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center. She was later transferred to a Wichita hospital, where she remains in serious condition.
The cause of the crash remains under active investigation.
