Kansas man dead, 2 hospitalized after pickup crash

STAFFORD COUNTY —A Kansas man died in an accident just before 7p.m. Tuesday in Stafford County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Dodge Ram 3500 driven by Brian John Dalton, 49, St. John, was traveling in the 800 block of NW 10 Avenue four miles North of St. John.

The pickup left the roadway to the right, returned to the roadway and the driver overcorrected to the left.

The vehicle traveled off the left side of the the road, struck an embankment and  began to roll. The driver and the rear passenger were ejected.

Dalton was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported to  Beckwich Mortuary. EMS transported a passenger identified as 24-year-old Dylan Posthumus of St. John to the hospital in Great Bend and he was then airlifted to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

EMS transported Waldo Vorsatz, 25, St. John to the St. John Hospital. The driver and passengers were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.
