TOPEKA – Governor Laura Kelly held a press conference  Wednesday to discuss the state’s response to the Delta Variant and the CDC's updated guidance that says even vaccinated people should return to wearing masks indoors.

She said that starting Monday,  state employees will be required to wear masks at work regardless of vaccination status. Also those entering state buildings will need to wear masks.

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said Wednesday that the new guidance was prompted by new data that showed vaccinated people can pass on the virus. The CDC also recommended indoor masks for all teachers, staff, students and visitors at schools nationwide, regardless of vaccination status.
