SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating a fatal pedestrian accident and have identified the victim as 68-year-old Charlie Jones of Wichita, according to Officer Chad Ditch.
Just after 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to an injury accident at Broadway and MacArthur in Wichita. Officers arrived on the scene and located Jones with injuries to his upper body.
EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation revealed Jones was traveling northbound on Broadway in a motorized wheelchair when he was struck by a black 2011 Ford F-150 traveling eastbound on MacArthur. Police released no additional details Wednesday afternoon.
