RILEY COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a homicide in Manhattan. Just before 12:30a.m. December 6, police responded to the 800 block of Colorado Street in Manhattan, for a reported welfare check of an injured man, according to a media release from the Riley County Police Department.
First responders located a 36-year-old man, identified as Mark Rickenbaker of Manhattan who had serious injuries to his body. During the investigation, officers discovered that Rickenbaker had been involved in an altercation prior to their arrival. Rickenbaker was transported by ambulance to Via Christi Hospital and died as a result of his injuries.
This is an isolated incident, according to the RCPD. Police released no additional details.
