Sheriff IDs man found in Kan. home with several fires

SEDGWICK COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities have identified the body of a man found at the scene of a house fire on Monday as Michael Summers, 50 of Wichita.

Just before 10a.m. Monday, fire crews were dispatched to a fire at a home at 52 E Via Roma in Wichita, according to Lt. Benjamin Blick. 

Crews encountered a fire in the garage that they extinguished before moving into the home. Once inside they discovered additional fires throughout the home. While extinguishing these fires they located a Summers who was deceased.

The Sheriff’s Office was summoned to the scene to conduct a death investigation. Late Friday the sheriff's office indicated that foul play was not involved in Summer's death.

The Sheriff’s Office was summoned to the scene to conduct a death investigation. Late Friday the sheriff's office indicated they foul play was not involved in the man's death. His name has not been released.
