FINNEY COUNTY —Officials at the Garden City Recreation Center, 310 North 6th Street in Garden City, detected elevated levels of carbon monoxide in the facility. Out of an abundance of caution, officials evacuated the building and are closed for the remainder of the day, according to a statement from the city.
If you visited the Recreation Center Friday, December 20, please monitor yourself and your loved ones for symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure, including:
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Nausea or vomiting
- Shortness of breath
- Confusion or disorientation
- Loss of consciousness
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless gas that can pose serious health risks. If you or someone you know is experiencing any of these symptoms, move to fresh air immediately and call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 for assistance.
