FINNEY COUNTY—Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas woman on multiple charges after a fight and altercation with police.
Just after 2:30p.m. Nov. 3, police were dispatched to the 900 block of N. 1st Street in Garden City for a fight in progress between three women, according to a media release.
Officers located two women fighting and separated them.The investigation revealed that 33-year-old Crystal Wettengel of Garden City and two women were hanging out when an argument ensued between Wettengel and one of the women.
Wettengel struck the woman in the face, and the two women began fighting in the home.
The third woman attempted to break up the fight when Wettengel began attacking her. EMS transported Wettengel to St. Catherine Hospital for treatment of injuries. The other two women sustained minor injuries that did not require transport to the hospital.
While at the hospital, Wettengel allegedly made threats and became combative with several officers before being subdued and taken into custody.
No officers were injured from the incident. Wettengel is being held in the Finney County Jail on requested charges that include Aggravated Battery, Interference Law enforcement officer, Mistreatment Elder Abuse, Battery, Battery of law enforcement offficer, Assault of law enforcement officer, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Criminal Threat and Criminal Damage.
