
KANSAS CITY —The suspect wanted in connection with an Amber Alert on Wednesday in Kansas City is now in custody, according to KCPD.
Markelv Avery, 23, was allegedly armed with a handgun when he abducted Malani Avery by force from her mother's house in the area of Gladstone Boulevard and Belmont Avenue. The Missouri State Highway Patrol issued an amber alert and police found the child a short time later.
Avery, reported to a patrol division station on Thursday and was taken into custody without incident. Police have not released possible charges in the case.

KANSAS CITY —Police continue to search for a suspect involved in the armed abduction of an 8-month old girl that prompted an Amber Alert in Kansas City.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Markelv Avery, was armed with a handgun when he took Malani Avery by force from her mother's house in the area of Gladstone Boulevard and Belmont Avenue. Within an hour, police found the girl. She was not with Markley.
He was last seen driving a four-door white Acura sedan that is missing the front bumper with an unknown license plate.
