CASS COUNTY, Mo.—A Kansas man died in an accident just after 3:30p.m. Monday in Cass County, Missouri.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2016 Ford F150 driven by Shaw M. Espey, 21, Luisburg, Kansas, was westbound on MO 2 just west of Groh Road.
The driver attempted to overtake a vehicle in oncoming traffic and struck a 2013 Volvo semi driven by Matthew Harris, 34, Harrisonville, Missouri.
Espey was pronounced dead at the scene and was transported by Frontier Medical. Harris was not injured. Espey was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP
