BROWN COUNTY —A Kansas man avoided injury just before 3:30p.m. Monday in Brown County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Air Tractor piloted by Colton Joseph Callaway, 24, Cummings, was taking off northbound from the Hiawatha Municipal Airport when the aircraft failed to take off successfully.
It crashed sitting upright in a field just north of the runway.
Callaway was not injured. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
