KDHE: Latest coronavirus numbers in Kansas

TOPEKA— The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Kansas increased by 233 to a total of 6984, the state health department reported Sunday afternoon.

Note: Starting May 11, the KDHE will stop releasing daily updates of counts of coronavirus cases and move to releasing the information on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

He said department employees need a combined total of 10 hours a day to produce the data and post it on its coronavirus website.

“We can spring free our precious epidemiology staff to do their work, which is actually to push down the disease,” Norman said.
