Marty K. “The Kid” Shank, 63, passed away May 8, 2020, at his home in Great Bend. He was born August 10, 1956, in Great Bend, to Virgil and Ruth Marie (Dirks) Shank. Marty married Debra (Momyer) Boyd, April 30, 2002, in Las Vegas.
Marty "The Kid", a lifetime resident of Great Bend, was a 25 year employee of the Great Bend COOP, most recently serving as the superintendent of the Radium COOP. He enjoyed fishing, gambling, watching sports, and in his younger years, playing baseball and basketball.
Survivors include his wife, Debra Boyd Shank, of the home; son, Jedidiah “Pus” Boyd and girlfriend Amanda Grandclair; daughter, Aimee Boyd Holden and husband Darrell “Wood”; sister, Kathy Shull and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Breanna “B” Holden and Jacob “Snakelip” Holden; nieces, Kara Shull Schridde and husband Mike, and Alissa Shull Daniels and husband Colin; and three great nieces. Marty was preceded in passing by his parents, Virgil and Ruth Shank.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorials may be given to the Martin Shank Memorial Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
