Kansas searchers find body of child swept away in accident

WICHITA, KAN. (AP) — Searchers looking for a 20-month-old girl who had been swept away in an accident along the Little Walnut River found her remains Saturday.

A search team found the child's body about 3,700 feet downriver from the area where the vehicle entered the Little Walnut River near Leon, Kansas.

Detectives with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office took the body to the Regional Forensic Science Center in Wichita for an autopsy.
