SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a criminal homicide that left a 19-year-old Kansas man dead.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to a shooting call in the 3100 block of South Davidson in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Officers located the victim in a grassy area near homes with a gunshot wound to his body.  He was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to Davidson.

Investigators have learned that an unknown suspect shot the victim during a verbal disturbance.   This was not a random incident.
