SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating an alleged sexual assault and have a suspect in custody.
At approximately 1230 a.m., March 21, officers responded to an alleged rape that occurred in the 9000 block of West Kellogg in Wichita, according to officer Paul Cruz. Upon the officer's arrival, an 18-year-old female victim who reports being raped by 38-year-old Lyle P. McClanahan of Wichita.
Through the investigation, officers learned the victim met McClanahan through a dating app. The victim told police that the suspect picked her up and took her to a separate location where she was sexually assaulted.
Police arrested McClanahan of Wichita on requested charges of of rape, attempted aggravated criminal sodomy, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, according to Cruz. He remains in custody on a $150,000 bond, according to online jail records.
