SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating an accident that fatally injured a 61-year-old man.

Just after noon Friday, police responded to an injury accident at 13th and McLean in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson..  Upon arrival, officers located the 61-year-old man with critical injuries.  He was pronounced deceased on the scene.

The investigation revealed the 61-year-old was operating a motorcycle southbound on McLean, crossed 13th Street, and then lost control, causing him to cross the centerline.

The motorcycle slid into a truck traveling northbound on McLean, causing his fatal injuries.

Speed involving the motorcycle operator is believed to be a factor, according to Davidson. The WPD Critical Accident Team (CAT) responded to assist with the investigation.  Davidson did not released the name of the victim.
