TOPEKA, Kan. –Law enforcement authorities are investigating an aggravated battery on an officer and asking the public for help to locate a suspect.
Just after 5p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 3800 block of SE Evans in Topeka on a report of a domestic disturbance, according to Lt. John Trimble.
Officers were notified of a person of interest identified as 24-year-old Ian Mwaniki fleeing the area in a black passenger car.
The vehicle then rammed a marked Topeka Police car who was arriving in the area. Mwaniki then fled on foot and remains at large at this time.
There were no injuries to the officer involved or any citizens in the area, according to Trimble.
