HARVEY COUNTY — Three people died in an accident just bfore 11a.m. Friday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Ford F250 driven by Eddie Wayne Scott, 51, Buhler, was westbound on U.S. 50 one mile east of Burrton.
The pickup traveled left of center attempting to pass and struck a 2011 Ford Focus driven by Robert C. England, 63, Hutchinson head-on.
England and passengers in the Focus identified as Tresia Lee England, 62, and Gage England, 11, both of Hutchinson were pronounced dead at the scene.
EMS transported Scott and passengers in the pickup Judith Yvonne Hendricks, 32, Hutchinson and Kristina Raylynn Welch, 30, Midwest City, Okla., to Wesley Medical Center.
Scott and Hendricks were not wearing seat belts, according to the KHP.

HARVEY COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal crash that took the lives of 3 people on U.S. 50 in Harvey County
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the near head-on crash occurred just before 11a.m. when a westbound pickup and passenger car collided on the shoulder of the eastbound lanes east of Burrton.
The KHP Critical Highway Accident Response Team is at the scene.
Just after 4p.m., KDOT reopened U.S. 50 in open in both directions following the investigation of the accident.
