Suspect remains jailed for alleged Kansas drug store robbery

COWLEY COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a drug store robbery and have made an arrest.

Just after 9:00 a.m. March 5, officers executed a search warrant at at home in the 1300 block of Menor Street in Winfield, according to a media release.

At the scene, police collected evidence  to facilitate the arrest of a suspect who is believed to have orchestrated the February 18, robbery at Graves Drug Store, 905 Main Street.  The robbery in the early afternoon hours prompted the lockdown of schools. Police described the suspect as wearing a black hoodie and orange mask who was considered armed and dangerous.

Steven Eugene Anstaett, 38, is being held in the Cowley County Jail on requested charges of robbery and is expected to make a court appearance this week.
