Deputies arrest 2 Kansas men after drug bust in Great Bend

BARTON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities have made five arrests after a drug bust in Barton County.

Just after 6p.m. Monday,  sheriff’s deputies and detectives executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Baker Street in the City of Great Bend, according to Sheriff Brian Bellendir.

Upon entry into the residence deputies discovered five individuals inside. All five were detained.

During the course of the investigation detectives discovered evidence that distribution of methamphetamine was taking place at the location. Sheriff’s officers discovered methamphetamine, scales and packaging material.

Deputies arrested Ronald Cornell, 62 of Ellinwood on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The second individual identified as Mark Spear, age 63 of Great Bend. Spear was arrested on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine. Both individuals were transported and booked at the Barton County Jail without incident.

The remaining three individuals were released at the scene.
