SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating the shooting death of a  34-year-old Kansas man.

Just after 5a.m. today, officers responded to a shooting  call at a home in the 2600 block of North Arkansas in Wichita, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Upon arrival, police found a 34-year-old man with a single gunshot wound to his head. He  was pronounced deceased on the scene, according to Davidson.

Through the investigation of interviewing witnesses and examining the  evidence, it was learned that a group of friends were at the home for  a party. During the party, the 34-year-old man and a 38-year-old  friend were in the garage. The friend had a handgun and began showing it to the 34-year-old who took the gun and fired one  shot, striking himself.
